Configure offsets

Configuring offsets increases the accuracy of point-cloud data.

Information

Changing the offsets deletes the generated point-cloud.

Tip

By default, the Offsets dialog opens on the INS Offsets tab.

Follow these steps to configure offsets:

  1. Configure INS offsets

From the FILE tab, select Offsets, see "INS Offsets".

Enter the roll, pitch, and yaw offsets.

    Enter the delay offset.

Under Update Status, record the date and time the offsets were changed, and if they were changed manually or by a filter.

    Select OK.

  2. Configure scanner offsets

From the FILE tab, select Offsets.

    Select Scanner Offsets.

Enter the alpha (α), beta (β), and gamma (γ) offsets.

    Enter the laser correction.

    Select OK.

    Tip

In most cases, scanner offsets do not need to be changed.

Only change the scanner offsets if the orientation of the scanner relative to the INS is different.

  3. Configure camera offsets

From the FILE tab, select Offsets.

    Select Camera Offsets.

    Enter the x, y, and z-axis offsets.

    Enter the delay.

    Select OK.

  4. Configure laser offsets

From the FILE tab, select Offsets.

    Select Laser Offsets.

    Select a scanner

    Enter a laser name.

From the Laser ID drop-down, select the laser ID.

Enter the vertical and rotational delta.

    Select OK.
